Theresa threw a birthday party for Dave.
Lots of fun, great friends, pool and gorgeous comfortable breezes out in the screened in deck room. Doug was feeling tired before we left, and said "Let's just go for a little while..."
Yeah.
We were there until almost 1am and when we left the laughter was ringing through the woods around the house. It was that much fun.
We all sat and chatted and told horrible stories about pet nightmares (Chris R.'s story about her dying Betta Fish was hysterical). We all talked about our boys, most of the people there have boys who went through Cub Scouts together or were in Boy Scouts together still. We talked about where they were choosing to go to High School, because most of them are going into 9th grade.
I took this picture because this was a moment that had to be caught. Dave loves wearing his Bowdoin College cap, and Paul put the party hat on top of it. Double hat, double fun.
Everyone bought special Beer related gifts for Dave. I picked him out two bottles of Chimay beers, and other people bought specialty brews from different great breweries. He's got a beautiful special stash of awesome brews.
I picked out Chimay for him because he often shares stories about his summertime bike trek across Europe, where they had Chimay often. And how it is best when served at "basement temperatures" for optimal tastiness. He had brought a couple bottles back from Europe back in the day, and wasn't sure if he should open them. Now I have given him some fresh choices he can crack them open and enjoy those instead.
