Take Me Out To The Bluejacket

Date of Visit: August 2, 2022

My friend Brian and his son were in DC for a baseball game this fall. When friends come to town and ask if we want to get together for lunch or dinner, you better believe we're on it.

We decided to meet up at Bluejacket Brewery in Navy Yard, so they could quickly get over to the game in time. And we could take a nice walk around.

We made reservations in advance, and probably didn't have to, but in DC I highly recommend it. It's hard to get in anywhere in town.

We tried to make reservations elsewhere, another place nearby that Brian wanted to go to, but they were booked for the day. Walking past - not a seat was filled so the mysteries of restaurants in DC abound.

The space is really nice, big, wide open, multi-level. The bar is pretty and we had good seats to sit and people watch. The food was fantastic. We had issues placing our orders on the app, which seemed to be the preferred method, so I flagged someone down who was happy to help us.

I prefer humans to technology anyway. I can tip a helpful human a lot more than I can a stupid QR code.

We had a wonderful visit, great beer, and are happy that the metro is so close. Our friends went to the game, and we walked around Navy Yard listening to the occasional cheers. Here are some pictures from our visit!

beautiful signage! We had Metal Guru, Lost Weekend, and Rainbow (not on that wall display it seems)

Lost Weekend, Hazy IPA. Looks like a glass of grapefruit juice.
Had a nice flavor and even a little citrusy!

Metal Guru, a very nice Bock

The Rainbow, perfect with my lunch!

And proof of life - like I said, when friends come to town, I'm totally down for a brewery visit!
